Somers Point Mayor, Jack Glasser
Jack Glasser has spent a huge part of his life in the service of others. He is a veteran of the U.S. Air Force and a retired Master Sergeant of the New Jersey Air National Guard’s 177th Fighter Wing, the famed Jersey Devils. He also proudly served with distinction for 25 years with the Northfield Police Department, retiring with the rank of Captain.
As the Mayor of Somers Point, NJ for the last nine years, Glasser is the driving force behind the many milestones and progressions Somers Point has seen while he’s been Mayor, including initiatives that resulted in a strong, marketable brand for the city; a successful homebuyer campaign; and measures that bring business to the city, including the appointment of the Economic Development Advisory Commission and measures that have made the City business-friendly, to which business owners have responded.
Glasser also serves and protect the school and children of the Atlantic County Institute of Technology as a security guard.
Glasser takes a hands-on approach when it comes to being involved in the communities he serves. He is a member of the St. Joseph Knights of Columbus and previously served as a Eucharistic Minister. In the past, Jack volunteered as a basketball coach and served as a Somers Point Bayfest committee member. He also served as co-chairman of security for the Miss America Pageant and was president of the Atlantic County Mayors Association.
Jack resides in Somers Point with his wife Diane. Jack and Diane have two grown children, Jack Jr. and Christine.
