Official Statement of Assemblyman Vince Polistina (R-2)

The following is the official statement of Assemblyman Vince Polistina (R-2) on the Assembly vote to remove the entire provision limiting out-of-state healthcare for public employees:

“Late last week I was the first – and only – Republican to publicly oppose a provision in the healthcare and pension reform legislation that would have prevented public employees and their families from seeking medical care out-of-state. That the provision was ever included in the bill was flat-out wrong and, through my efforts, I was able to work with the Governor’s office to amend the language and significantly ease those restrictions. Today’s decision by the State Assembly to go a step further and remove the restriction completely is great news. I was glad to play a leading role in this bipartisan effort to ensure public employees have the full menu of healthcare choices they deserve.”
