State Sen. James ?Sonny? McCullough, R-Atlantic, today was endorsed for re-election by the New Jersey State Policemen?s Benevolent Association.
Anthony F. Wiener, PBA President, said the 30,000 member organization endorsed McCullough based on the Senator?s long history of ?support for law enforcement personnel and his continuing sensitivity to and appreciation for the difficult job performed by police officers.?
The letter of endorsement commended McCullough for taking a pro-active stand to ensure that law enforcement officers have the tools and the benefits to do their jobs.
McCullough said he ?honored by the endorsement and gratified at the support of the brave and unselfish men and women in uniform who protect us each and every day.?
?In my career in public service, I have come to a greater understanding of the risks and perils faced by police officers every time they go on duty,? McCullough said. ?They are dedicated public servants who unhesitatingly place themselves between the law-abiding and the lawless. I am proud to accept their support in my campaign and I pledge to continue my support for them.?
