Lt. Governor Kim Guadagno was on hand as Atlantic County Republicans crowded the Smithville Inn for the organization?s annual Lincoln Dinner. This year?s dinner also commemorated the 100th birthday of President Ronald Reagan.
Atlantic County Republican Chairman Keith Davis and Vice Chairwoman Maureen Bugdon presented the Lt. Governor with a thank you card signed by elected officials, party leaders and activists for their efforts to assist Revel in completing its financing and getting people back to work in our region.
?Everyone acknowledges that if it wasn?t for Governor Christie, this critical project to our region would not have been reignited,? Davis said. ?Our county Republican organization is thankful that we have a Governor and Lt. Governor who are proactive in creating jobs in our region and have prioritized Atlantic City?s rebirth as one of their top goals.?
The Lt. Governor?s keynote address highlighted several key components of the Governor?s recently released FY2012 budget including increases in education funding, preservation of municipal aid, payments into a reformed pension system, and the first tax cuts in more than a decade. It was also a call for Republicans to stand together and remain committed to making the tough, but necessary decisions in these trying times, just like Presidents Lincoln and Reagan would have done.
