Kellyanne Conway, a former long-time Hammonton area resident will headline this year’s Hammonton Fire Department Christmas Parade as it’s grand marshal. This year’s parade is the concluding event celebrating Hammonton’s 150th Anniversary.
Ms. Conway will be accompanied by her family and will ride through downtown Hammonton led by members of the Hammonton Fire Department, and Hammonton’s municipal government leaders. She attended St. Joseph High School from K-12 and worked at Indian Brand Blueberry Farms in the summers before leaving for Washington, DC for college and law school. Most recently, Kellyanne was the Campaign Manager for the 45th President of the United States, Donald J. Trump. She is the first woman to successfully manage a presidential campaign in U.S. history.
“We are thrilled that Kellyanne was able to take the time to come back home and join us for such a special event. We are so proud of the good work she is doing with the President-Elect and look forward to presenting her with a key to the Town of Hammonton,” remarked Councilman Mickey Pullia. Councilman Pullia is a 30-year member of the Fire Department here in Hammonton and led the local effort to coordinate Ms. Conway’s visit.
Representatives from the Town of Hammonton municipal government will stop the parade at the intersection of Bellevue Ave and Central Ave where Ms. Conway will be presented with a key to the Town of Hammonton. At that time Ms. Conway will join Fire Department representatives to share brief comments with the crowd and view the remainder of the parade with friends and family from the judges table.
Media wishing to film Ms. Conway’s remarks can setup at the intersection of Bellevue Avenue and Horton Street where an area will be provided.
The parade will begin at 7:00 PM on Saturday December 10th. The parade begins at the intersection of Bellevue Ave & North Liberty Street, will continue South on Bellevue Ave through downtown Hammonton and end at the NJ Transit Railroad Tracks which intersect Bellevue Ave.
Parade participants can register at Hammonton Middle School on North Liberty Street beginning at 6:00PM. There is no pre-registration required.
Spectators are encouraged to find suitable viewing locations along Bellevue Avenue between Egg Harbor Road and North Liberty Street. Visitors and residents alike are asked to leave plenty of time for arrival and parking as a large crowd is expected for the event.
This parade is the largest of its kind in South Jersey featuring dozens of fire trucks, classic cars, bands, and other holiday-themed entries.
Immediately following the parade the public is invited to an old fashioned block party at FireHouse # 1 located at 108 Front Street. Awards will be given at that time for parade participants and light refreshments will be served.
