Atlantic County Freeholder at large Joseph Silipena was honored for his years of service to the county at a testimonial event last week at the Tuscany House in Egg Harbor City.
The event was chaired by Atlantic County Republican Chairman Keith Davis, County Executive Dennis Levinson, and State Assemblymen John Amodeo and Vince Polistina. U. S. Congressman Frank LoBiondo was a special guest.
Silipena is retiring from the Board after 15 years of service, including terms as board director.
?Joe dedicated himself to serving the people of the county,? Davis said. ?His tenure on the Board was marked by his commitment to fiscal responsibility and to enhancing the quality of life for all citizens.?
Republican candidates for at large seats on the Board, Tom Ballistreri and Manny Aponte, commended Silipena?s service, describing him as ?a role model for public officials.?
District 3 Freeholder Frank Sutton, who has served with Silipena, said with Silipena?s departure, ?the county will lose a public servant of the highest quality who always put the taxpayers first.?
