1/22/10 - Quote of the day

"He is so well-liked, so well-respected."

That's what Gerald Sakura said today about Congressman Frank LoBiondo. Sakura has announced that he will run for the Democrats against Congressman LoBiondo this year.

I happen to agree with Mr. Sakura and hope he stays in the race to the very end so we can have a civil campaign in 2010.

1/21/10 - Corzine's parting gifts

Jon Corzine left a lasting legacy of debt and mismangement in state government.

Governor Chris Christie learned yesterday that the state's debt is $1 billion more than he was previously told.

And now it is learned that Corzine made last minute appointments for his cronies to vest their pensions on state boards --- taking a further toll on our pension system.

Good riddance Jon Corzine.

1/20/10 - New Governor. Off and running.

Yesterday was a historic event --- the inauguration of a new governor and the first lieutenant governor of New Jersey.

In his speech, Governor Chris Christie promised change.

Today, he delivered by signing a series of executive orders.

Of critical importance to our region is an order deeming Casino Control Commission employees as "essential" so that gaming halls can remain open in the event of another state government shutdown.

Our two Assemblymen, John Amodeo and Vince Polistina, have long advocated this policy change and their goal of protecting casino employees is now realized.

Another order signed by the Governor today extends pay to play restrictions to cover campaign committees run by labor organizations.

In Atlantic County, we have the toughest county pay to play ban in the state. With this move by Governor Christie, New Jersey may now have the toughest pay to play ban in the nation and puts labor and business on an equal playing field when it comes to making campaign contributions.

All in all, a good first day for our new Governor.

1/17/10 - Help stop Obamacare; make calls into Massachusetts

The polls show that Republican State Senator Scott Brown is leading his Democrat opponent in Massachusetts for a special election to be held this Tuesday. The election is to fill a vacancy caused by the death of Senator Ted Kennedy.

Brown is leading because he's a conservative who is opposed to Obamacare and the wasteful stimulus programs we have seen under Democrat control in Washington.

You can help put Scott Brown over the top this Tuesday to send a strong message to the Democrat establishment in Washington that America doesn't share in its big government agenda.

Click here and make calls from your own home over the next 24-48 hours and let's do for our nation what we just did here in New Jersey with the election of Chris Christie.

12/29/09 - Tea Party Movement Targets Menendez for Recall

You may have gone to DC for a Tea Party Rally or followed the growing movement on Fox News. Now the Sussex County Tea Party has filed papers to recall Senator Bob Menendez from office.

You can read about this effort here.
